HANDSOME
Entrepreneurship Class Project
2017-2018 New York
This is a group project for my Entrepreneurship class at MFA Design for Social Innovation Program, School of Visual Arts. In this class, we founded a for-profit organization called HANDSOME - A Savory Pie Company.
Our pie company buys products directly from local farmers, so that they receive 100% of the profits from that food, other than have money going to middlemen within the supply chain. Then our company turns the raw ingredients into delicious savory hand pies, still a novelty in the American food scene, and caters them to companies in New York City. The mission is to support small farms so that they don’t go out of business, and to provide delicious and uniques lunch experiences to people who are removed from these farms. Our mantra: EAT SEASONS, THANK YOUR FARMER.
We completed a budget plan, which included start-up costs, and a business plan, which included a competitive analysis.
We also pitched our business idea to a panel of investors, including Stephen J. McCarthy, Managing Director of KCG Capital Advisor.
